Publisher's Comments
‘Built to Last’ is one of the first books to introduce the concept of exercising without typical bodybuilding exercises. The book is for anybody that wants to improve their health and fitness, for whatever goal, whether it be toning, losing fat, improving muscle strength and definition, or for sports-specific training.
The book is a general introduction to this new way of training. It contains two programmes, along with details of how to perform the exercises properly, whilst debunking some commonly held myths about exercise and technique.
Whether you are currently using a productive exercise programme or not, this book has been written to educate people about which exercises are really important for everyone, and which might do more harm than good. If you are exercising now or not, ‘Built to Last’ is probably the one book that you cannot afford to ignore!
Author's Comments
I would like to believe that ‘Built to Last’ is one of the most important books ever written on general health and fitness. It is one of the first on the subject of functional or movement-based training, which comes from the concept that exercising the way that the body moves is better for the muscles, the bones and the joints, than exercising in a more random manner. Specifically, this is the only book that I know of, aimed at anybody that wants to receive the benefits of exercise, which is not comprised of exercises originally designed for bodybuilders. Whatever your goals, this book has been written so that you can reach them and improve your overall health and fitness at the same time. The two programmes are an excellent introduction to exercising for health and fitness.
